Affect v. Effect — Affect is the verb. Ex: Your actions affect others. Effect is the noun; the exception is when it’s used as a verb to mean to accomplish something or to cause something to happen. Ex of effect as a noun: The special effects in The Matrix changed the movie-making landscape. Ex of effect as a verb: Councilmembers effect positive change in their wards. Log in v. Login— To log in is a verb; it is the action of logging into an online account. Ex: Log in to your account to register for this event. A login is a noun or adjective; it is the username and password used to access an online account, computer system, network, etc. Ex: Your login will be your work email.
