Additionally, she volunteers at the Grand Traverse County Probate Court providing minor guardianship reviews and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Living in the historic downtown neighborhood of Traverse City for 34 years, she has been active in the Central Neighborhood Association and is currently the treasurer. As founder and organizer of TCPorchFest which is now in its 3rd year, she sees this event as key to developing and strengthening the personal relationships that are requisite to a healthy community. This neighborhood gathering in the fall with musicians playing pro bono for one afternoon on multiple porches is a highlighted event of the neighborhood, creating camaraderie and reconnecting the residents with each other.
